Toni Kamula is Finnish writer-director who was born by the Gulf of Bothnia in Kempele, North of Finland in 1978.
Before focusing on film directing, he graduated from the University of Lapland with a BA in Media Art / Science in 2008 and has had both private and collaborative exhibitions in media and video art. In 2009 he graduated from the National Theatre Academy of Finland with MA in Acting and has worked for
years as an actor in several theatres (ie. The Finnish National Theatre, Helsinki City Theatre), TV, films and as a voice actor for radio drama and cartoons.
In 2013 he moved to Copenhagen, Denmark, to study Film Directing as a part of the 8th generation of independent film School/Collective Super16 and graduated November 2016.
As a director his works include short films, radio drama, music videos.
His filmworks have been selected as an Official Selection in several International Film Festivals such as Vancouver International Film Festival (CAN), Palm Springs International Film Festival (USA), Göteborg International Film Festival (SWE), Aesthetica Short Film Festival (UK), Goa Shots! (IN), Odense International Short Film Festival (DK) and Helsinki International Short Film Festival: Love & Anarchy (FIN).
He operates both in Finland and Denmark.
